Paws and Claws animal hunt

Red Class loved hunting for animals in the Shared Area this week, that have Paws and Claws. They found out that they were all animals from the UAE.

They found an Arabian Mau, a Desert Fox, an Arabian Leopard, a Saluki, a Falcon, a Hare and a Lizard. They were so excited each time they got to cross another animal off their list. Each child chose a different way to mark it off; some used crosses, some ticked theirs off, some made circles and some drew their own animal next to the picture. Very creative and inventive for 3 and 4 year olds! What little superstars!

Using Shapes to construct animals

FS1 White Class have been so busy this week using 3D construction blocks to make homes for animals that live in the U.A.E. Take a look at their amazing structure and see if you can find the animal hiding inside the home! <

Our Wonderful, new Outdoor areas

FS 1 have been very lucky to have new outdoor areas to play in and new toys to play with. Miss Neville very kindly spent a long time shopping and setting up these exciting new areas! We have done so much new learning in the sand by filling and pouring and using our imaginations to make cake shops and ice cream vans. We have been working collaboratively with our friends to build dens, houses, caves and much more in the construction area! What a lot of fun.
Thank you to all the children for using the new areas so nicely and helping to take care of the toys! We would also like to thank parents for keeping the outdoor areas clear before and after school. This has been very helpful for us to keep it tidy and keep the toys nice ready to learn with! :)

FS1 research about UAE animals

This week in FS1 we have been finding out about animals that come from the UAE. We used non-fiction books and laptops to do our research. We also used our wonderful new outdoor environment to see which of these animals we could find. Some of the children told us about their Saluki dog they have at home or their Arabian Mau cat. We enjoyed this!

Icy explorations

White Class have been exploring how water can freeze to ice, and then melt back to water. Miss Afzal hid some fruit inside the ice and so we had a fun time using our five senses to look, touch, feel, smell and taste the difference between water, ice and the hidden fruits!
