Our FS1 Trip to Umm Al Emarat Park

FS1 visited Umm Al Emarat Park last week and had a fantastic time. We were able to do many different things. We enjoyed seeing the animals and had a wonderful time paddling in the stream. We enjoyed our picnic in the park, played with a parachute and some of us got to walk through the gardens with some very interesting plants. FS1 also loved the playground as there are different types of equipment to explore. I am sure you can see from the photos below what a great day it was.

International Day!

What a way to end the term! Blue class had so much fun today.
The day started with a Primary Parade around school in our different continents. Then we were able to visit the different stalls in the shared areas. We looked at different objects, ate some different foods from around the world and even had face paints and hand tattoos. After that, we had a fabulous picnic lunch with all the food that the mummys and daddys kindly brought in for us to try. After a play outside, we were ready to explore Antarctica! We were able to go to any FS 1 class to do a different activity. We dressed in cold weather clothes, explored ice, made shape penguins, igloo pictures and snowy pictures. Phew... Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

Making Bread in FS1 Green Class

This week in FS1 we really enjoyed making bread. We followed instructions to make it by adding flour, salt, sugar, yeast and water together. Then we kneaded it ourselves and made our own 2 bread buns. We then got to take these bread home and enjoy them. Here you can see the photos of the process.

Phonics in Blue Class

FS 1 have been doing fantastic phonics work and really enjoying it!
So far, we have learnt these sounds:
i, l, t, u, c and a. Next week we will be learning d.
We have played lots of games when learning things that begin with these sounds and have used many different resources such as chalk, paint brushes and water, shaving foam, sand and flour to practice writing these sounds. What clever children!
